For diploid organisms. x must be read in Morgan (not cM)
Haldane Map Function \(r(x)=\frac{1}{2}(1-e^{-2x})\)
Kosambi Map Function \(r(x)=\frac{1}{2}(\frac{e^{4x}-1}{e^{4x}+1})\)
The Kosambi map function is usually better because it takes into account interference in contrast to the Haldane map function which assumes no interference. The Haldane map function has a Markovian property, which can be used to analyze multiple loci.
